The Song of Life

As we sift about, tossed and turned,

Stung and hung, yearned and burned,

Amidst the downtrodden, fair despair,

We can catch a song, quietly, yet ever there.

This song that's sung, what is its tune?

First found in ignoring emotions strewn.

Then with our Heart, the beginning beat,

We realize this song never calls retreat.

Nor has it ever, nor will it now.

As another instrument takes its vow.

Familiar? Yes, but a second think,

The next accession is but a Blink.

Two steady drums thump in galore.

The prelude hums within our sight and core.

We blink, we beat, we wink, we pound;

Yes, this song is in our nature, all around.

The chorus is the banter of our dismay

As if fighting to pause but we let it play.

So, we see, added to this symphony,

A tri-formed verse, from two to three.

The instrument that makes the rest complete

Occurs when our Lungs and fresh air meet.

This breath of life never ends,

Likewise for its other two friends.

So as we sift about, tossed and turned,

Stung and hung, yearned and burned,

Amidst the downtrodden, fair despair,

We catch a song, noticeable now, and always there.

This song that's sung, what is its tune?

A jubilant call, lasting moon to moon.

Never forget this sweet song of life

Who's melody circumvents every single strife.

In faith now, you can courageously say:

I'm still breathing.

My heart is beating.

And the blink in me, never starts depleting.

And in that moment, you know you've won;

For in that triumphant tune, the song is sung.
