Rapture

Hello friends. I've been secretely drafting poems for the past 6 months now. Not one of these poems has been read by anyone other than me. Not even my wife. Why? I don't know why.
I'm at a point in my life where I wonder what the future is going to hold for me but a common theme has started to emerge during my thought-sessions: My life has already been full and nothing suggests that it with cease to be so.
Maybe you feel the same? Maybe not?
As I reflect on the things that have carried me through uncertainty, I have of course thought about my loved ones and my passions, but I have also realized that little routines made a big difference.
Essentially, I miss this routine. Writing to you. Sharing my heart with friends and strangers. You see, I rarely know who reads my work unless you comment or tell me in person, but I'm not bothered by that. All that matters to me is that I reach you, somehow. And hopefully I uplift you, somehow.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, I want to share again. I want to push my self again. And so, though I've made similar commitments in the past, I am setting an alarm on my phone to start posting again. Every Friday like I used to. And please hold me to it. I need you to.
I don't want my blog to transition into travel writing articles all the time, I want some me time too. So, without further ado, here's this week's post (It is also perhaps my favorite poem of all the poems I have written):
RAPTURE
And as I close my eyes,
The light refuses to give up on me,
For an orange hue of encouragment fills me
As the sun hugs my skin.
No,
I may never know dark,
Thanks to a world that loves me
More than I love myself.
