The Solidity of Our Beliefs

'T'would seem to be, at least to some,
A waterfall in its splendor,
With flowing might, but dangerous plight,
Has the world as its vendor.
For did it choose to travel long,
O'er rock beds to its rue?
Or had it ought, and thought it so,
To let its mass askew?
'T'is not so, nor ever was
That the water will just cease,
And upon the winding stretch conclusion,
A jutted shelf is its release.
Thus the river, involuntary falls
In its crude, terminal route;
Because it's not solidified,
'Tis easily tossed about.
Same too with us, it's simple how
When life is our contender,
Oftentimes, to our dismay,
To the world, we surrender.
'T'would then be wise to remember
When we pour into the ditch of doubt,
And forget the solidity of our beliefs,
We're easily tossed about!
