"Why Weepest Thou?"

Updated: Sep 21, 2023
Who art thou Lord? "The Lamb, little one."
Where art thou Lord? "Look up child."
Lo, He is here. He is risen.
He healed the leper and likened the lesson.
Because if Him, Luke loathed lust;
Lazarus laid no longer.
Lamanites lightened their lips.
For where we lack, He loves.
How we lean, He leads.
When we're left, He lifts.
What we've lost, He lights.
And while they think He lay, He lives.

As I testify, I wish I could declare these things to all of the world. Whether on a wall with projectiles whizzing past, from a tower next to king Benjamin, or walking side by side with my Savior. For now, in these words, I rest enough. Enough to declare that I know. I know! I know that Jesus Christ suffered. He died. And He overcame the sting of death. And He did so for you, and for me.
"So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulcher.
And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet he went not in.
Then Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulcher, and seeth the linen clothes lie,
And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself." (John 20: 4-7)
What strikes me to the core? Well this whole, true account, but particularly those last words: "wrapped together in a place by itself." With thought, the resurrected Savior folded his burial clothes as if to say: Not today Death. No not ever.
"But Mary stood without at the sepulcher weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down and looked into the sepulcher," (John 20:11)
"Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou?" (John 20:15)
"Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you." (John 20:21)
For me, for you, for them;
He lifts. He loves. He lives.
